Tells us about your business.
We are a traditional Mexican pastry and cake shop that has been serving Dallas as a community for 30 years. We have always have prided ourselves on having a family-friendly atmosphere in all of our stores. We aim to provide the highest quality, made-from-scratch products, using only quality ingredients at very affordable prices for our customers.

How long have you been in business?
We have been in business for over 30 years.

How many locations and staff do you have? 
We have 3 locations with 30 employees.

What makes your business unique?
Our products are all made in house with high attention to detail. We also try our best to customize our products to be tailored to our customer’s needs.

How did you get your idea or concept?
Our business concepts came from generations of hard-working business-oriented family members.

What do customers enjoy the most about your business?
Customers enjoy the taste and freshness of our products.

What’s your most popular product, service, and or item, and when is the busiest time of the week usually?
A few of our most popular products are our traditionally favorite Conchas, and also our 3 Leches cakes!

How do most customers discover you?
Over the years our clientele has grown with word-of-mouth exposure. As times have become more modern, our business has also seen growth because of our social media accounts.

All of our Dallas-based business partners have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. While there is little any individual company can do to remove the challenging implications of the pandemic on their business, there is a lot that an individual company can do to sustain operations and continue to survive and thrive through this season.

The OTG team wants to thank Del Norte Bakery for their transparency and engagement. We asked about how COVID-19 has impacted their business and what they are doing as a result. Annette talked a bit about how Del Norte Bakery is combating the challenges of COVID-19.


How has COVID-19 affected your business? 
Like many other businesses, we have been affected by the recent pandemic. We have seen a decline in our sales throughout the week and in the number of cakes, we are selling. But thank God we have been able to remain on the plus side of things for the most part.

What changes have you made to your business in response to COVID-19?
We have made all changes required by the laws of local governments. We have also taken precautions with our employees by offering them items such as gloves and masks to wear daily for their protection and the protection of our customers.



How has your physical to the digital portion of your business changed? Have you seen a significant increase in deliveries and or certain products being consumed? 
At the moment we do not offer delivery service, but we have seen an increase in the inquiry of our products through our social media platforms.

Has COVID-19 affected your marketing & advertising strategy? If yes, what new ways are you reaching locals now?
We have continued to do most of the marketing on social media, which we had already been doing since before the pandemic started.
